March Favourite!

It's the last day of March and you know what that means!!
MONTLY FAVOURITES!

It feels like is was only yesterday that I did my February Favourites this month has flown by so quickly!

March has been a great month for finding new things and exploring different styles that I would not have normally tried.
I have blogged previously about a couple of these items but I loved them so much that they just had to be part of my Monthly Favourites!

I only just discovered Too Faced Cosmetics this month, thanks to my lovely friend Melaniface, and I went crazy when I found it instore at Mecca Maxima!
So two of my monthly favourites are actually from Too Faced ...

Too Faced - Boudoir Eyes
This  palette is the most beautiful palette I have used to date!
I love the versatility of the shades and the vast choices I have when doing my eye make up now.
If I want smokey eyes or a fresh spring chic look I can do it all with this one palette!
The colour scheme is very feminine in shades of pink, plum and all things glitter!
I am loving this purchase!
It costed me $53.95 from Mecca Maxima and I truly believe that it was well worth the money considering that a lot of other beauty brands charge anything from $30 a pot and the quality is no where near as good as this palette.

This has to be the greatest mascara I have ever used!
The wand is shaped like an hour glass which helps to pick up every litter tiny eyelash and flares them all out to give the illusion that you are wearing false lashes!
What I love about this mascara is that it doesn't clump up after the first application like most mascaras tend to do.
Instead you are left with full twiggy style lashes with little effort!
This set me back $31.95 which when you think about it is not much more than a lot of chemist, or drugstore, brands that are a low quality product!

I searched long and hard for a skin toned eyeliner for my bottom waterline and I  seriously only found two and they were both by Chanel!
This pencil and a crayon style pen.
But me being a traditionalist stuck with the pencil.
This shade is number 69 which is called Clair.
This glides on with ease and the colour is perfectly even and visible with only one application!
It really works well to help open my eyes when I have a lot of darker tones happening on my top lid!
Chanel charge $48.95 for this pencil but I purchased mine from StrawberryNet for only $37.95!
Bargin!
Also you get a free Chanel sharpener with it! It is so adorable!

I am such a silly billy I went to M.A.C on the weekend to buy the lipstick shade 'Angel' and today when choosing my monthly favourites I realised that 'Angel' is the shade I wear all the time! (Good thing I didn't repurchase it in Saturday)
I love this lipstick!
It leaves my lips feeling soft and moisturised and never, not even once, has it dried my lips out!
The shade is a perfect soft pink which goes so well with the Boudoir Eyes palette shades I have been wearing on my eyes lately.
I haven't really needed to wear a liner with this shade its perfect the way it is!
All M.A.C lipsticks are $36.00 this one included!
Really you should get this for your collection!!

Last but not least...

I am loving this foundation brush!!
I stumbled across this brand online when searching for some new brushes and I was amazed how cheap they are!
I wasn't expecting anything great in quality but when they arrived they were amazing!!
The quality was so professional!
The reviews were really good when I was reading about the brand but I never really trust reviews that are on a stores website because sometimes they are fake reviews but this time I truly believe that the reviews were true!
The brushes are so soft on my skin!
The foundation applies so evenly with this brush better than any other brush I have ever used!
And they wash up so easily!
But seriously ITS PINK where could I go wrong?!
This brush costed $10.00 yeah thats right only $10.00!!
All their brushes are animal friendly and cruelty free!
I own quite a few of their brushes now and I think I would continue to use them I really am loving them!!

I hope you Dolls enjoyed my Monthly Favourites!
What are your Monthly Favourites? I would love to know what you Dolls are into at the moment!

Last Minute Purchase!

This Friday we have a wedding to go to that my Fiance´ is actually a groomsman in so I have been busy trying to gather up all the make up and accessories I will need to look perfect for this garden wedding!

I'm wearing a pale peach dress with black lace overlay so I wanted to base my make up on the colours of the dress.
I have already blogged about my eye make up and how I'm doing my face for the day but I actually completely forgot about lips.

So I researched different brands and different colour combinations and came to the conclusion I would try MAC.

Off we toddled to Myer at Highpoint, which is the nearest MAC counter to us, so I could explore the wonders of lipstick shades that were awaiting!

I normally don't go to MAC because every single time I go I never get served and end up just walking off or I do get served but they are just plain rude!
But I had no choice but to put up with the poor service!

I had originally decided on the lipstick Angel and the lipliner Devrish but when I actually tried them on my lovely Fiance´ wasn't too keen on the colour so that meant I had to actually get served but for once, to my surprise, I was served with a smile and the lady was very helpful and suggested her all time favourite go to lipstick which is Shy Girl and the lipliner Summerfruit.
This combination is the perfect peach tone!
At first I felt it was too orange but when I dabbed off the colour a little on a tissue it settled and it was a lovely natural shade!
And most of all my Fiance´ liked it!
So that's always a winner for me!

Summerfruit lipliner is a crayon liner.
I was actually wanting to go old school with a pencil but this shade matched the lipstick perfectly!
I wore this all day yesterday and it lasted through the day with only having to reapply the lipstick.
Which is what I want considering the wedding is actually at 4pm.
This liner is quite a thick texture so at first I felt like I had so much product on my lips but I eventually got used to the feeling and loved the result!

I love the natural toning that these two products give my lips and I would highly recommend them to you all!!

What lip combination are you loving at the moment?

Product Review: OPI Nail Lacquer

OPI is my all time favourite nail care brand so if you see my nails painted you can guess that it is an OPI shade!
This one is one of my all time favourites!
OPI Big Hair Big Nails!

What I love about OPI is the streak free finish that all their polishes give you!
Big Hair, Big Nails is a polish that I always forget about and when I discover it again I am always like why do I not wear this every day??

There is something about a nice red polish that makes me feel extra feminine but this polish gives you a hint of tangerine for a more summery feel!

This polish is quite a thin colour so I normally have to apply quite a lot of coats to achieve a non transparent result.
So that is the only drawback about this particular colour you have to use a lot more then you normally would have to use to achieve the desired result.

I love to wear this colour when I have a nautical toned outfit on.
I find that the orangey red goes really well with navy blue and white!

This particular shade I have had for a couple of years so you may need to search through the racks of David Jones or Myer to find it but it is so worth getting if you can get your hands on it!

David Jones sells OPI Nail Lacquers for $19.95 a bottle.
They are also available from selected Hairhouse Warehouse stores and Salons.

Every girls needs to have Big Hair and Big Nails every now and then!!

Clean Cup, Clean Cup, Move Down!!!!!

I don't know if it's the British in me or the fact that I am completely obsessed with Alice in Wonderland  but I love tea!

There is just something about sitting down with a cup and saucer filled with steaming hot tea that brightens my day!

Just because I love tea doesn't mean I'm not crazy fussy about what teas I do drink so I thought I would share some of the ones I am drinking at the moment and whereabouts I get them from!

My everyday tea has to be Harrods No14 English Breakfast.
For those who don't know Harrods is a famous and large department store in London that is reknowned for being able to purchase anything your heart desires!
Well lets face it my heart desires tea!!
I know what you're thinking but you aren't from London!
You're correct but on my travels a few months back I stumbled across a Harrods section in David Jones's Food Hall and just had to try it and to be honest it was only the name that I was interested in!
But I actually quite enjoyed this tea!
What I like about it is that you don't need to use many tea leaves to make a stronger strength tea so it lasts me a few weeks compared to T2's tea where I was only lasting one and a half weeks per cube box!
The taste is quite different to other English Breakfast tea's I have had in the past it has a slight burnt flavour through the leaves which I normally don't fancy but with the blend of Assam, Ceylon, Darjeeling and Kenyan Teas it really does go well!
Like I mentioned I use loose leaf tea but Harrods teas are available in tea bags but i always prefer the taste of the loose leaf to the prepackaged leaves.
So I found these little guys while adventuring through Daiso....

These are the greatest invention for any tea lover!!
They are tea bags you can fill yourself!
They come in a pack of 100 for only $2.80 from Daiso!
This saved washing out tea strainers and diffusers every time I wanted a drink!
Unfortunately Harrods teas are only available from David Jones in store not online!
Which means I do have to travel a distance every time I am wanting some more tea!
David Jones charges $16.95 for a tin of Harrods tea which isn't too bad for quality tea.

Before stumbling across Harrods teas I was purchasing my tea from T2.
My favourite had to my Hobart Breakfast which is a black tea infused with apples!
It was so good!
But for some reason they changed the tea and it tasted dreadful!
It tasted over brewed and there was no flavour of the apple anymore!
I rang up to enquire about it and they said nothing had changed so I bought two more packets and every time it was just as bad so I stopped buying it from them which was quite disappointing because I found the apple infused into the tea made it really calming and soothing on my stomach first thing in the morning!

But I still do have to occasional tea from T2 like Gorgeous Geisha which is a Jasmine tea infused with strawberry that is great for when you are having a girly day and relaxing while doing your nails it really has a beautiful fragrance and flavour!
T2 generally charge around $13.50 a cube box for their teas but that varies depending on the tea you chose some of the high quality green teas are super expensive so always check the price!
T2 is a great place to get ideas on making iced teas and they always have taste testing area in store!
I know I have gotten some of my favourite tea combinations from exploring the tasting area here!

I am not much of a coffee drinker and when I do I seriously don't sleep for a week, I'm not exaggerating, so instead of coffee I will have a cup of Roasted Dandelion Tea which is suggested to have instead of coffee.
But if you are wanting the taste of coffee this tea isn't going to do the trick it tastes nothing like coffee more like a super strong tea.
But I like it because it is caffeine free so I like to have it later at night so I wont be kept up by a caffeine fix!

All my black teas I do drink with milk and being vegan I opt for some Almond Milk.
I use Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Unsweetened Almond Milk.
I chose this one because it is probably one of the only Almond Milks on the market that isn't packed full of additives and sweeteners!
But you can get flavoured versions by Blue Diamond like chocolate and vanilla.
I normally use vanilla when baking!

Take time out of your busy day to enjoy a spot of tea!

Thankful Thursday!

Last night I had the pleasure of falling asleep to the pitter patter of tiny raindrops falling against our roof and this morning I had the pleasure of waking up to the gentle pitter patter of even more raindrops falling on our roof!

In this land of sunburnt plains we long for a good amount of rain and I am thankful that today we got a nice drenching!

So me being the kid that I am yanked out my raincoat from my closet and jumped into my gumboots and with umbrella in hand ran out to jump in all the puddles i could find!

Sometimes in this life of hustle and bustle it's great to have a kid moment and take time to go and dance in the rain!!

A Vegan's Day Out!

Today I thought I would adventure into Fitzroy to check out a new vegan food store that has just opened up on Brunswick Street because it is hard to find a wide range of vegan yummies around in the local stores!

I spent all of 10 minutes in The Cruelty Free Store and I was very disappointed!
Not only was is overpriced but there also was no much variety there!

So I stepped out of the shop doors, with only two items in hand, and looked up and there across the road, with an aura shinning, was The Vegie Bar!

Now I had heard the great wonders of the place before but had never known where exactly it was so this castle of vegan heaven had eluded me until  now!!

As though there was a rope drawing me in I entered The Vegie Bar to taste their delectable delights!

The atmosphere here is very typical of the area with a warehouse, hipster kind of feel which makes me want to explore even more!

Greeted with smiles and open arms the waitress took our orders and we sat drooling across the table longing for our scrumdiddlyumptious lunches to arrive!

I went with my Mum and she ordered what she thought was a basic garden salad, because of her eating requirements she finds it hard to find much choice on menus, but when it came it was a mountain of raw goodness on a bed of roasted yumminess!

Mine arrived and I was expecting a plain risotto but when I shovelled the puffed grains of rice into my mouth it was a dance of Thai Elephants wearing Coconuts on their heads!
Ok so maybe not but the tastes of Thailand came flooding into my mouth!
You can't even begin to imagine how much joy that brings me!!

I followed up with my delicious green juice packed full of Apples, Cucumber,  Spinach, Kale, Avocado and Maca Powder!
It was so lovely and refreshing!

I loved this place and truly recommend it to you all!

They have Vegan, Gluten Free and Raw Options!

Check it out I bet you will love it!!

My Daily Skincare

I'm not the greatest when it comes to skincare I have very temperamental skin which makes it really hard when trying to find the perfect skincare regime.
I will grab something that claims to be sensitive and almost immediately after applying it to my face I come out in whelps, rashes and splotches!

But these products I have been able to use for over a year now without any hiccups!

The newest member of my daily skincare regime is that ugly looking bar of soap...
To look at this little fellow is not appealing in the slightest but after my Fiance's parents went to Vanuatu for Christmas and came back raving about this natural oil I did what any beauty addict would do I jumped straight onto their website and ordered me some of that oil which is called Tamanu Oil.
After using the oil on my eczema and other skin irritations I decided to try some  of their other products and I came across this the "Forever Young Tamanu Soap" which is made from Tamanu Oil and Coconut Oil.
The great thing about this, being direct from Vanuatu, they don't add any fake and nasty ingredients into their soaps so you know that you are getting exactly what you asked for!
I have been using this since January and I love it!
It does dry my skin out a little but I just lather it up with some moisturiser and its as good as new!
This product is only available at The Summit Vanuatu's website for only $7.95 and I think my postage was only $1.90 to Melbourne, Australia!
I use this in the shower every morning.

I will follow it up with Sukin's Sensitive Facial Moisturiser and Sukin's Antioxidant Eye Serum I like to wear a more natural skincare range during the day rather then a chemical filled product just because my face is being hit by enough pollution and chemicals during the day and I don't need to add to that by smothering on petrochemicals and all those other nasties!
I purchase my Sukin products from Chemist Warehouse but they are also available off their website.

My night regime consists of using make-up remover wipes to remove all my beautiful make-up, normally I use WotNot Facial Wipes,  the I rewash my face with Lancome's Gel Eclat Clarifying Cleanser, which I purchase from either David Jones (if I'm desperate) or StrawberryNet. This cleanser I find to be so soothing to my skin it has a silky feel to it which makes it so refreshing to use.
Once I have rinsed off my cleanser, which takes some doing this cleanser is so thick, I then moisturise with Lancome's Hydrazen Extreme Soothing Moisturising Cream which always makes my face feel soothed and refreshed after a long day with all that make up on!
Lancome is a bit pricey but I am just happy to have a product that doesn't aggravate my skin!

All up these products make my skin feel soothed, refreshed and silky smooth!

What are the products that you Doll's are loving on your skin at the moment??

Passion Pour Le Rouge...

My favourite thing about the cooler weather is being able to bring out of storage my amazing red boots by Isabella Anselmi!
These boots are perfect!
They are a slight wedge which gives me some much desired height and the wedge also makes them super easy to walk in!

I bought these boots to travel New Zealand in and I wore them all day every day and they didn't make my feet ache even for a second!

I absolutely love accessorising with red it is the perfect colour to spice up a cozy winters outfit!
There is nothing like adding a splash of red lipstick to tie in your amazingly perfect red boots!
I'm wearing Maybelline's Colour Sensational Vivid's in the shade Neon Red.
Available from Chemist Warehouse for $14.39.

Red is such a versatile colour...
I seriously add it to every outfit in the winter.
Black, Blue, Grey, Brown, White...
You name the colour I generally will give red a shot!

Having such dark hair naturally red looks amazing against my hair as well so it's not rare to spot me with a bright red bow in my hair!

I don't know if it's because it is the colour of passion or if it is the italian feel it gives me but I love the warmth and spice that red gives my every look!

What colour are you Dolls loving to accessorise with at the moment?
I would love to hear you're Dolls opinions!

Hope you Dolls are having an amazing weekend!

Baking With Holly!

Friday is my adventures in the kitchen day!
I generally bake a treat as well as something special for dinner!
This week is actually my parents wedding anniversary so we are having a good old fashion Aussie barbecue together. So there isn't a nice dinner tonight but I prepared something for the freezer to show you Doll's anyways!

I made a Vegan Irish Stew last night using TVP (which is a soy meat replacement), some assorted vegetables, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, a touch of homemade plum sauce and some herbs and spices.
But there was just way too much left over so I chucked it in the fridge to cool so I could make them into some meat pies... vegan style!

We are cheaters in a way... we have a pie machine which is so much quicker then cooking pies in the oven it seriously only takes 5-7mins to make the pies!

I am using a pre-made packet of Gluten-Free Vegan pastry sheets available from Coles.
The handy thing with the pie machine is there is a pastry cutter included so you will get even pies every single time you make them!

And all you do is fill the bases with the mixture until they are just slightly piled higher then the sides and place the tops on and close the lid and it does everything else for you!!

The finished result is yummy golden brown ready to eat pies.

I allow the pies to cool in the fridge and then I place them in individual freezer bags and place them into the freezer ready to pull out when I need something quick and easy to have for dinner!

I also just pulled a fresh batch of cookies (pictured above) out of the oven my house seems amazing with hints of chocolate and coconuts!
There is nothing like a home filled with the scent of home baking.

Hope you Doll's are having a wonderful Friday Afternoon!
Finally a lovely cool change has come over and is meant to bring some long awaited rain!
