These guys are a great combo to keep my make up from 1. staying oil free and 2. lasting longer!
The Porefessional is only a pore minimiser but it really helps to decrease the amount of oils being excreted from my pores and The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine stops the oils from taking hold of your make up for up to 5 hours, I just reapply it once I feel the oil coming back and voila no more shine!
Another thing to keep in mind is just because you have oily skin doesn't mean that you don't need to use moisturiser it may mean the complete opposite!
Always keep up with a good moisturiser there are oil free versions if you feel that oil based moisturisers are making your skin just too out of control.
Check out products like Clinique's Dramatically Different or Lancome's Hydra Zen these are gel based moisturisers rather than oil based.
Always remember to remove all make up from your face before bedtime and always cleanse, tone and moisturise. This will help keep your pores clear and they wont be trying to push out all that build up by producing more oils.
Try to allow your skin to breathe once in a while.
Having some make up free days does wonders to your skin and it will allow your skin to hydrate itself without being suffocated by product build up.
Have a go at adapting your make up to your skin type.
Obviously us oily skin prone gals are not going to be able to achieve a complete matte complexion all day long why not try a more dewy natural looking foundation and embrace the natural oil!
This is the perfect peach tone!
I use this at my neutral shade for my lips.
It has got a slight orange toning through it but I actually like the extra added warmth to my lips!
This lipstick was actually chosen by my Fiance and I have to admit that his generally right when he says something looks good!
Again, just like the previous MAC lipstick, this leaves my lips hydrated and kissable!
I tend to wear this on the weekends when I'm out with my Fiance I just find it an easy shade to maintain!
Also available from all Myer Department stores across Australia
but also available from Amazon for $15.50
I also have a couple of drugstore favourites if you are wanting a cheaper option! Revlon's Colourburst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart
This is actually quite a vibrant pink!
The best way to describe it is Barbie Pink!
I tend to wear this as a feature shade if i'm wearing all black and I'll match it with some pink shoes!
I love the colours available in the Colourburst range but they never leave my lips feeling nice after using it!
I always feel like I have wind burn or they are so dehydrated but thats easily fixed with a bit of my pawpaw ointment or eight hour cream!
I generally get my drugstore brands from Chemist Warehouse and this sells normally for $14.98 but at the moment it is on sale for $10.00!
I tend to wear a lot of navy blue and red coloured clothes so I love to match it with a vibrant vintage red!
But I found this shade while in Chemist Warehouse one time and loved that it wasn't your typical red red it is more like a orangey fire engine red!
With the orange tones in the lipstick that can be hard to watch with make up but like I said it matches my clothes perfectly!
There is something timeless about a nice red lip!
I do however have to apply this lipstick a lot to maintain its vibrance and beauty and it can tend to dry my lips a little bit but that doesn't bother me thats an easy fix!
Available from Chemist Warehouse for $16.98 but at the moment they are selling them for $8.48
Or from Amazon for $5.50.
Here is Australia it is the ANZAC Day long weekend and not only did I made these ANZAC biscuits in remembrance of all the soldiers that have given their lives for our country but also because they taste so darn good!
I have done a double mixture because I love huge cookies!! So if you are like me just double everything in this recipe!
What you are going to need is: 2 Cups Rolled Oats
1/2 Cup Sugar
3/4 Cup Flour
1 Tablespoon Golden Syrup (or a touch more if you are me)
1 Teaspoon Bicarbonate of Soda 2 Tablespoons Boiling Water
1/2 Cup (125grams) Butter, Melted!
Preheat your oven at 160C or 320F
In a bowl mix Oats, Sugar and Flour and set aside. In another bowl or jug mis Golden Syrup, Bicarb and Boiling Water. While the ingredients are still frothing add the Melted Butter and then pour into dry ingredients. Mix until everything is all combined! Take spoonfuls, or handfuls, of the mixture and roll into balls and place on a lined tray and slightly flatten. Pop it into the oven for 15-20 minutes or to the desired texture! Then pop them onto a cooling rack and you're ready to eat!!
These are super quick and easy cookies that I love to whip up for my Fiance!
This weekend my Fiance and I are going to a bridal expo and doing some research for some wedding ideas so I thought that I would get into the mood by doing a bridal inspired look for my nails.
All up I have used three different nail products to achieve this blissful look.
1. OPI's Time-less is more
This is a off white, which I wasn't expecting the colour looked pure white until I painted my nails. I wasn't too impressed with this polish to be honest normally OPI polishes are nice and thick and creamy and you don't need to work on achieving the perfect application but this one I seriously did ten applications and you can still see my nail underneath!
2. YSL's Dore Orfevre 29 I actually used this colour last week on my Game of Thrones inspired look! It is like liquid gold and i love it so much!
It is a bit pricey but it gives a smooth and perfect application and it dries really quickly!
3. OPI's The Man with the Golden Gun
Sorry to say this was a limited edition! Part of the 50 years of Bond collection this is a top coat that has real gold flecks through it! I only use this for special occasions and it looks really nice over the gold polish on my feature nail!
All these products can be found at all department stores!
Until recently I was so sceptical about filling in my brows and thought it looked way over done like I looked like Groucho Marx but after spending some time at the Benefit counter at Myer Highpoint I started to appreciate the love of a nicely filled in brow!
So the search began for an easy and quick way to fill in my brows!
I went from Mecca Maxima to Mac to Chanel and back to Benefit and decided this beautiful product was exactly what I had been searching for!
A lot of brow pencils I had looked at had been scratchy and drew harsh lines and lets face it I want beautiful brows not chicken scratches!
But when I tried Benefits Instant Brow I fell in love!
The brow brush combed through my brows with ease and styled them perfectly!
The size of the pencil fits perfectly in my hand!
and the consistency of the pencil was smooth almost like a creme!
I loved that the girls didn't push me for my natural colour, which is almost black, but allowed me to explore the lighter shades until I found what was perfect for me!
I chose Medium Brown which is the perfect warm brown that brings warmth to my face!
This pencil is so easy to use and only takes me a couple of seconds to get perfect brows!
and the great thing about using a pencil like this is is you get a little heavy handed you can just use your brow brush to comb through your brows to take away some of the excess product!
The only downside is that I go through it so quickly!!
I can't do my make-up now without framing my face with beautiful brows!
I don't know how I could leave my make up half done for all these years!
