Dealing with Oily Skin!

The daily battle with oily skin can be a hard one but I have learnt over the years to embrace my naturally oily skin and roll with it!

The great thing about having oily skin is that the high amount of oils help to keep your skin looking younger longer!

But When it comes to make up it can be annoying having a glowing oil spot in the middle of your forehead so here is a couple of products I have used to keep my make up looking flawless longer!

Benefit have come out with two amazing products to help with this exact problem!

The Porefessional and The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine!

Amazon $40.00
Amazon $36.00

These guys are a great combo to keep my make up from 1. staying oil free and 2. lasting longer!
The Porefessional is only a pore minimiser but it really helps to decrease the amount of oils being excreted from my pores and The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine stops the oils from taking hold of your make up for up to 5 hours, I just reapply it once I feel the oil coming back and voila no more shine!

Another thing to keep in mind is just because you have oily skin doesn't mean that you don't need to use moisturiser it may mean the complete opposite!
Always keep up with a good moisturiser there are oil free versions if you feel that oil based moisturisers are making your skin just too out of control.
Check out products like Clinique's Dramatically Different or Lancome's Hydra Zen these are gel based moisturisers rather than oil based.

Amazon $32.00
Amazon $105.00

Always remember to remove all make up from your face before bedtime and always cleanse, tone and moisturise. This will help keep your pores clear and they wont be trying to push out all that build up by producing more oils.

Try to allow your skin to breathe once in a while.
Having some make up free days does wonders to your skin and it will allow your skin to hydrate itself without being suffocated by product build up.

Have a go at adapting your make up to your skin type.
Obviously us oily skin prone gals are not going to be able to achieve a complete matte complexion all day long why not try a more dewy natural looking foundation and embrace the natural oil!

Love the skin you're in and have fun with it!

How do you Dolls tame your oily skin?

My Most Worn Lipsticks!

You could say that I am  newbie to the lipstick world I was always the kind of girl that wore lipgloss's rather than a lipstick!
But as I'm getting older I'm starting to see the beauty in a beautiful lipstick!
That also means I'm spending more money on lipstick!

I have quite a few lipsticks but I thought I would show you Dolls the ones that I wear majority of the time!

I'm a huge fan of MAC lipsticks especially the cremesheen range!
They never leave my lips feeling dry or dehydrated but lush and moisturised!
I tend to wear  a nude shade most days and thats why I bought a couple of lovely pale toned lipsticks from MAC!

Angel by MAC
This was actually the first colour I ever purchased from MAC in lipsticks!
It is a beautiful soft pink and yes it is very angelic!
I love the feel of this lipstick on my lips it feels like I am wearing a lip balm that is highly moisturising rather than a beautiful lipstick!
This has to be my most warn shade!
It goes with basically every look and is a breeze to apply!
All MAC Lipsticks are available from Myer Department stores across the nation for $32.00
or online at Amazon from $14.00.

Amazon $14.00

Shy Girl by MAC
This is the perfect peach tone!
I use this at my neutral shade for my lips.
It has got a slight orange toning through it but I actually like the extra added warmth to my lips!
This lipstick was actually chosen by my Fiance and I have to admit that his generally right when he says something looks good!
Again, just like the previous MAC lipstick, this leaves my lips hydrated and kissable!
I tend to wear this on the weekends when I'm out with my Fiance I just find it an easy shade to maintain!
Also available from all Myer Department stores across Australia
but also available from Amazon for $15.50

Amazon $15.50
I also have a couple of drugstore favourites if you are wanting a cheaper option!

Revlon's Colourburst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart
This is  actually quite a vibrant pink!
The best way to describe it is Barbie Pink!
I tend to wear this as a feature shade if i'm wearing all black and I'll match it with some pink shoes!
I love the colours available in the Colourburst range but they never leave my lips feeling nice after using it!
I always feel like I have wind burn or they are so dehydrated but thats easily fixed with a bit of my pawpaw ointment or eight hour cream!
I generally get my drugstore brands from Chemist Warehouse and this sells normally for $14.98 but at the moment it is on sale for $10.00!
Or you can find it on Amazon for $6.48.
Amazon $6.48

Maybelline Coloursensational in Neon Red
I tend to wear a lot of navy blue and red coloured clothes so I love to match it with a vibrant vintage red!
But I found this shade while in Chemist Warehouse one time and loved that it wasn't your typical red red it is more like a orangey fire engine red!
With the orange tones in the lipstick that can be hard to watch with make up but like I said it matches my clothes perfectly!
There is something timeless about a nice red lip!
I do however have to apply this lipstick a lot to maintain its vibrance and beauty and it can tend to dry my lips a little bit but that doesn't  bother me thats an easy fix!
Available from Chemist Warehouse for $16.98 but at the moment they are selling them for $8.48
Or from Amazon for  $5.50.

Amazon $5.50

In comparison MAC wins hands down but not everyone can afford counter products every time, me included!
If I could I would have only MAC lipsticks they keep my lips perfect!
There is something timeless and elegant about a beautiful lip!

What shades and brands of lipstick are you loving at the moment??

Baking with Holly: ANZAC Biscuits!!

Here is Australia it is the ANZAC Day long weekend and not only did I made these ANZAC biscuits in remembrance of all the soldiers that have given their lives for our country but also because they taste so darn good!

I have done a double mixture because I love huge cookies!!
So if you are like me just double everything in this recipe!

What you are going to need is:
2 Cups Rolled Oats
1/2 Cup Sugar
3/4 Cup Flour
1 Tablespoon Golden Syrup (or a touch more if you are me)
1 Teaspoon Bicarbonate of Soda
2 Tablespoons Boiling Water
1/2 Cup (125grams) Butter, Melted!

Preheat your oven at 160C or 320F

In a bowl mix Oats, Sugar and Flour and set aside.
In another bowl or jug mis Golden Syrup, Bicarb and Boiling Water. While the ingredients are still frothing add the Melted Butter and then pour into dry ingredients.
Mix until everything is all combined!
Take spoonfuls, or handfuls, of the mixture and roll into balls and place on a lined tray and slightly flatten.
Pop it into the oven for 15-20 minutes or to the desired texture!
Then pop them onto a cooling rack and you're ready to eat!!

These are super quick and easy cookies that I love to whip up for my Fiance!
Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Bridal Bliss

This weekend my Fiance and I are going to a bridal expo and doing some research for some wedding ideas so I thought that I would get into the mood by doing a bridal inspired look for my nails.

All up I have used  three different nail products to achieve this blissful look.

1. OPI's Time-less is more
This is a off white, which I wasn't expecting the colour looked pure white until I painted my nails.
I wasn't too impressed with this polish to be honest normally OPI polishes are nice and thick and creamy and you don't need to work on achieving the perfect application but this one I seriously did ten applications and you can still see my nail underneath!

2. YSL's Dore Orfevre 29
I actually used this colour last week on my Game of Thrones inspired look!
It is like liquid gold and i love it so much!
It is a bit pricey but it gives a smooth and perfect application and it dries really quickly!
3. OPI's The Man with the Golden Gun
Sorry to say this was a limited edition!
Part of the 50 years of Bond collection this is a top coat that has real gold flecks through it!
I only use this for special occasions and it looks really nice over the gold polish on my feature nail!

All these products can be found at all department stores!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Beautiful Brows!

Until recently I was so sceptical about filling in my brows and thought it looked way over done like I looked like Groucho Marx but after spending some time at the Benefit counter at Myer Highpoint I started to appreciate the love of a nicely filled in brow!

So the search began for an easy and quick way to fill in my brows!
I went from Mecca Maxima to Mac to Chanel and back to Benefit and decided this beautiful product was exactly what I had been searching for!

A lot of brow pencils I had looked at had been scratchy and drew harsh lines and lets face it I want beautiful brows not chicken scratches!
But when I tried Benefits Instant Brow I fell in love!
The brow brush combed through my brows with ease and styled them perfectly!
The size of the pencil fits perfectly in my hand!
and the consistency of the pencil was smooth almost like a creme!

I loved that the girls didn't push me for my natural colour, which is almost black, but allowed me to explore the lighter shades until I found what was  perfect for me!
I chose Medium Brown which is the perfect warm brown that brings warmth to my face!

This pencil is so easy to use and only takes me a couple of seconds to get perfect brows!
and the great thing about using a pencil like this is is you get a little heavy handed you can just use your brow brush to comb through your brows to take away some of the excess product!

The only downside is that I go through it so quickly!!
I can't do my make-up now without framing my face with beautiful brows!
I don't know how I could leave my make up half done for all these years!

Benefit sells this beauty for $36.50
and Amazon sells it from $14.98 (pictured below)

Now I have mastered this I am wanting to explore more into brows!
What do you dolls recommend???

Heaven Scent!

Perfume makes a woman feel feminine and makes a man stop and look!
Perfume is something unique because every perfume will smell different on each one of us!

I am not one who likes to drown herself in her scent I like a very subtle and soft mist so that people will only catch a whiff of the delicate scent as I walk past!

But I wanted to share a few of my favourite go to scents and one room fragrance!

Neroli Jasmin by The Body Shop
This is quite a strong scent so I don't wear this on my body it is a scent that I use for filling my house with a florally spring scent that will bring a bit of life to a room.
Obviously this is a Jasmine scent that would be why they named it Jamsin after all!
I used to work with a girl that sprayed herself with this all day and it smelt amazing on her!
But for me I just feel like its too strong for what I like!

Princess by Vera Wang
I have had this in my collection ever since it first came out when I was a teenager!
It is a bit of a teeny bopper scent but it makes me feel young and free!
The bottle is adorable!!
The love heart adorned with the cutest crown I have a feeling that is why I bought it in the first place!
This is probably one of the harder scents to describe it isn't florally maybe a little spicy though.
I would have to say there is a slight vanilla in the background of the scent with a lot of fruity over tones.
This is perfect for a girls first scent in my opinion!
And being an older scent you can normally pick it up cheap from discount drugstores!

Purr by Katy Perry

This is her original Purr fragrance!
I really love this scent!
Again a bit teeny boppery but still sweet and fun!
When this first came out around 3 years ago I searched high and low for this because it was so popular they kept selling out!
But when I finally got my sticky fingers on it I loved it from day dot!
I would describe this scent to be very sweet and fruity!
I took it to Thailand with be a few years back and whenever I smell this scent all I think of is Thailand!
Again this is now an older scent so you can pick it up really cheap!

Fancy by Jessica Simpson

Amazon $21.51

You would think that I was attracted to celebrity perfumes but trust me I'm not!
I only go by how they smell!
This is my all time favourite!
It is a florally fragrance with a hint of vanilla and caramel!
I where this all the time it makes me feel so pretty wearing it!
This is a bit of a hard fragrance to find around here!
I only once saw it locally and it was when I bought the last bottle of it!
It was released around five years ago so it is available online from discount beauty stores!
I love everything about this fragrance the scent, the bottle and colour tones!
It really is a bit fancy!

A couple of perfumes that are not in my collection at the moment but I adore and have loved in the past are Dior's Miss Dior and Hugo Orange by Hugo Boss!
Both are beautiful fragrances but being high end brands I can't afford them every time.

That is my favourite female perfumes at the moment but here are a couple of male scents that I buy for my fiance to make him smell so scrumptious!
Hugo by Hugo Boss is my all time favourite male cologne! This makes him smell amazing!
It isn't so overpowering that you can't wear it as an every day spritzer, which is what Scott does!
The other cologne I love on him is Dolce and Gabbana The One this is such a woody scented cologne but it smells amazing on a night out!

Amazon $46.55
Amazon $38.55

I find the best place to purchase our fragrances is from StrawberryNet and Amazon!
They generally have some cheap offers available!

What are  your favourite perfumes and colognes??
I'm always loving ideas for new scents!
