Candy Gumdrops!

Howdy Doody Dolls,

Strolling through the beauty aisle at Woolworths Supermarket the other day I came across a new stock of Nicole by OPI nail lacquers most I had seen before but then I saw this beautiful candy pink shade I pick it up and see that it says that it is also a gumdrop polish, which I have never used before, being the beauty blogger I am I thought I should try it out to see what its like.

So using the shade Candy is Dandy by Nicole by OPI I applied two even coats to each nail and allowed to dry.
Do not apply a top coat so that the polish maintains its matte finish.

I was really impressed by the coverage that this polish gives I am the kind of person who likes to apply a tonne of coats just to make sure I can't see anything through its opaque finish but this has full coverage almost immediately.

The finished result is a beautiful girly candy pink that in the light looks like tiny crystals glimmering and glittering away.
I have to admit I was unsure about how it would turn out but I really am happy with this beautiful and unique finish.

Have you had a chance to try the gumdrops polishes yet? If so what were your thoughts?

Floral Friday!

Hi Dolls,

We are at the tail end of May and I thought I would do something a little different and finish the month off with some colour and beauty!
I love flowers, I always have. There is something about taking the time to stop and smell the roses that makes the day so much better.
I am blessed to live in a country that has a variety of flowers all year round not only in the warmer weather and I also live in an area that never snows so there is no risk of freezing those pretty little petals.

Here in Melbourne June starts not only a new weather season but also a new floral season so I thought I would share some of my favourites for the coming month to add a little life to your winter home!

Daffodils:
One of my all time favourite flowers, every time I see a daffodil I feel like its smiling back at me and its aroma even though strong still beautiful and sweet fills a room with warmth and light.
I love to have these placed in a vase in the dining area to brighten my day every morning when I have breakfast.
Unfortunately my family are allergic to the strong perfume it omits so I can only use them when they aren't around.
The good thing about daffodils is they are a budget flower you can pick them up really cheap from grocers this time of year.

Gardenia:
Another full fragrant blossom but one that will warm you to the core.
This beautiful plant was given as a wedding favour to us at my Brother and Sister in Laws wedding in April, I planted it straight away longing to see its beautiful blossoms emerge but being a sapling I will have to wait a little while to see any flowers.
I can't wait to walk past and smell the beautiful scent waft up to meet me.
Being a simple flower it will go with any decor and also wedding!

Jonquil:
Basically a daffodil but oh so petite.
These actually look so adorable like little baby versions of its relative.
I love the contrast they have with the white and yellow almost the same feel the daisies give.
Also having a beautiful scent this will bring life to any room in the cold of winter.

Rhododendron:
Here in Melbourne in the hills to the right of the city there is a rhododendron garden in the Dandenong ranges that is so beautiful and if you ever get chance to visit it is well worth walking through the masses of blooms rising above you.
Rhododendron's blossoms are a monstrous mass of colours that really beam and glow in the cold of winter.
Unfortunately they are huge bushes, or should I say trees, so they wont fit in a beautiful pot in your patio but if you have to room one of these bushes would look lovely in anyones garden!

Sweet Pea:
These are simply stunning flowers in their beautiful pastel shades of purple and pink.
My desk is an antique cream Queen Anne dresser and these sitting on the side of the cream desk look absolutely stunning with their striking blossoms.
Even though they have such a beauty about them they still have that delicate and feminine feel to their petals like something a little girl would gather up in the garden.
Beautiful to bring beauty into the home.

Apple Blossoms:
Looking so similar to the beautiful cherry blossoms  you see each spring in the Japanese cherry blossom festivals these beautiful flowers bring just as much beauty and joy into your world.
With subtle tones of pink and white and running along long branches they will make a stunning feature in a vase or like shown above a lovely wreath to adorn your door.

Flowers bring such happiness and life into this world some times we do need to stop and get back in touch with nature.

TBT: Wedding Day Mistakes...

Howdy Doody Dolls,

Being a newly engaged chickadee I am constantly scouring the internet for ideas and tips for my own wedding.
The Internet is the perfect place to find some amazing ideas but some times things should not be repeated and a lot of the fashion trends in the past have a lot to answer for so I thought it would be fun to show you Dolls some of the photos I have come across on my internet wedding adventures!

I hope you enjoy!

If your bridesmaids look like the curtains it might not be a good idea!

I have no doubt that the next generation will look back on our wedding photos and think what were they thinking, fashion changes so quickly!

I hope you are all having a great day!

Top Ten Tuesday: Keep an Eye Out For...

Hi Dolls,

There are so many goodies coming out soon or just been released that I just had to share with you all the favourites that I can't wait to get my hands onto!

Some are very well blogged about because they are already available in the US and overseas but have't quite made it to the shores of Australia yet!

1. OPI Designer Shades:
Available in 11 shades and a top coat these beautiful and chic colours are so eye catching and a must for every fashionista's nails.
What caught my eye was the top coat is described to be a diamond dust formula which delivers unparalleled brilliance and lustre, keeps true colour and prevents yellowing.
It sounds fabulous this range is available at David Jones.

2. Too Faced Melted:
I have been waiting ages to use these amazing lipsticks.
And they are lipsticks not lipgloss they are a liquid lipstick hence the name melted.
They come in 6 different shades that are full of vibrance and colour!
Now available from Mecca Cosmetica.

3. Too Faced Brow Envy:
Now this is a revamp of the original product.
It comes with two brow powders, a wax and a highlighter along with a pair of tweezers, some travel sized brushes and some easy to use stencils for applying the perfect brow shape.
This would make a great travel kit with everything you will need in one handy compact.
Also available at Mecca Cosmetica.

4. Guerlain Meteorites:
These are stunning I have been wanting to track these down for a while but they are also rather pricey.
Basically it is an illuminating powder but a much prettier version.
It is a available in a variety of colours but I just love the pastel tones through this particular one!

5. OPI Coca-Cola Collection:
This was  just released in the US and I think it is fabulous I can only imagine the delectable names that each colour will be called.
It is a 10 pack and is part of the 2014 spring releases.

6. M.A.C 3D Glitter:
I am normally not one for over the top crazy eye make up but these have peeked my interest I saw them used on a model and they looked stunning shimmering and shining in the lights.
Of course its a product for night wear rather than an every day kind of thing but it is not only for your eyes you can go crazy and apply it wherever you are feeling like having a hint of bling!

7. M.A.C Alluring Aquatic Collection:
All available in beautiful aquamarine packaging like neptune plucked them straight from the sea himself.
There is a whole range from eye shadows to nail polish all the way to beauty powders.
I haven't seen any advertising or announcements for Australia yet but it shouldn't be too long I would expect considering the rest of the world has it already!

8. M.A.C Maleficent Collection:
This had an early release last week and I missed out on what I was wanting so I have to wait for this weeks release to see if I can get my hands on at least one piece from this collection!
Also available in a variety of products its a much anticipated collection that we all are hanging out to use.

9. Chanel Les Beiges:
This beautiful powder is Chanel's newest SPF15+ powder straight for the collection Les Beiges.
I love powders that have a contrast of highlighter, blush and bronzer to capture the perfect shade for cheeks and Chanel never seizes to impress all their products are amazing to use but unfortunately are quite expensive so I only use them for special occasions instead of every day use.

last but not least...

10. They're Real Push Up Liner:
Admit it you're intrigued!
Everyone is talking about this in the beauty world finally a product that will give us perfect cat eye/ winged liner every time that sound good to me.
Five years in the making it is sure to be a big hit when it hits the shelf.

What are you hanging out to get your hands on??
